how to plan a wedding day timeline ( part 1 )

June 29, 2018

Filed in: For the Brides

Hey sweet bride, I see you!

You’re excited, you’re stressed, you’re emotional ( in a good way ), & you’re maybe a tad overwhelmed! Your wedding day is a few months away ( maybe even sooner ) and all your vendors are asking for your wedding day timeline!

WHAT THE HECK?!?

Maybe you knew you needed to write out ( in detail ) ALL the events of your entire day and what time they  occur, and maybe you didn’t. But regardless,  it comes with the wedding planning gig, and it can be pretty daunting!

After three years of shooting weddings, I am here to tell you IT IS OKAY!!! Breathe, grab a glass of whatever your soul desires, and know that in the next 4 weeks I will be laying out my sample timeline I send to every one of my brides!

Yep! This timeline is sent to every single one of my brides!! Why?! Because this is actually one of my FAVORITE parts of my job! As the photographer, I have to keep my brides on their timeline ALL DAY LONG! The ceremony must begin when, the DJ will be announcing the bridal party at this time! My whole day is focused around your timeline, so it is my pleasure to help you organize yours!

BRIDAL DETAILS & GETTING READY

I am a SUCKER for bridal details & every bride loves having those beautiful shots of her dress, shoes, invitations, jewelry, etc! It’s a major part of your day, and all my brides SWOON when they see them in their blog post/final gallery! For me, I ask all my brides to allow 30-40 minutes just for details! While I’m shooting these, my sweet husband shoots the grooms details, and we both also capture some shots of you getting ready with your girls and him with his guys!

After the details are photographed, it’s time to get into that GORGEOUS dress hanging on the door! This is the moment you’ve been dreaming of! It’s monumental, and one thing you will never forget for years to come! I usually ask for 30 minutes for this, and as soon as the dress is on we take photos of you putting on your veil, jewelry and shoes!

Below is a little recap in timeline form from when the photographer arrives to when you put on your dress! Next week I’m talking all about timing your first look, bridal party portraits, and how to get into hiding early so your guests don’t sneak a peek!! Happy Weekending, friends!

1:30pm – Photographers Arrive
