THE DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE / WEDDING BLOG SERIES PART: 5

June 29, 2017

Filed in: For the Brides

AND ITS HERE!!!

The last of our five part wedding blog series!! You guys, this series has been SO fun creating! Not only have we found that it has helped OUR brides, but other brides have loved it too!!! We are so honored you followed along!!

So today we are talking all about the wedding dress shopping experience! It was exactly THREE years ago today, I went and picked up my dress that I would walk down the isle in! Isn’t that CRAZY!! There are a few things that I distinctly remember about that experience, and the fact that my sister had her first dress appointment back in May, I have a few tips on how to make this the BEST experience for YOU!!

  1. BRING WHO YOU WANT TO BRING!!

So I know I cannot be the only one who has a crazy big, loving family!! Am I right?!? I wanted EVERYONE there for my first dress appointment and in hind sight that was the most precious moment for me! My grandparents, my momma and momma in law, my sweet sisters…they were all there to laugh with me and cry with me and it was just perfect! However, not all brides want everyone and their mother to be present for such an intimate moment AND THAT IS OKAY!!! Invite who you want to share this time with!! Everyone else will be able to enjoy the dress on your big day and I promise their jaws will drop when you walk down that isle!

  1. DON’T SETTLE

I wish I would have had this advice! We stopped at one boutique and I tried on 3 dresses! Now don’t get me wrong, I probably would have come back and still picked the SAME dress I originally choose, but y’all, there are literally 100’s of dresses out there, and you don’t have to pick the very first one you see! It’s almost like car shopping, you test drive before you buy!! So don’t settle! If you want to try on 10-100 dresses…go ahead!! You do you, sweet bride!

  1. TRY ON MORE THAN ONE STYLE

So my sister thought she knew what kind of dress she wanted! Pinterest Pin after Pinterest Pin and she just knew what style she wanted…well friends, her dress consultant let her try on a few that she had in mind, but being the dress genius that she is, asked if  she could bring in a few other styles. Low and behold, she fell IN LOVE with a style she would have NEVER thought would be THE DRESS!! Step out of that comfort zone!! Try that sexy dress on! That big poofy, princes ball gown that you swore you would never like…this is your time to see exactly what you want, why not try a few different styles just to make sure its perfect!!

Now, please friends I am NOT a dress genius!! This is all coming from experience! I highly recommend chatting with your consultant!! They are professionals and will know way more than even Pinterest!! But this is my final advice! HAVE FUN!!! Friends, I wish you could just freeze time! The moments of wedding planning were my some of my FAVORITE! Were they stressful…sometimes! But in the end, it was literally the most fun I ever had!!! Cherish every second!!! Happy planning, gorgeous!
