Okay let me start this blog post out by saying our wedding day was PERFECT!!!

To be 100% honest, if we were to go back and redo our wedding it would be completely the same!! Our families came together and gave us the most AMAZING day! The flowers, the dress, THE FOOD ( I still have dreams about how delicious our food was ) EVERYTHING was so special to us!!

However, looking back, I worried so much about EVERYTHING that I think I would want to tell myself to remember these 3 small things!

1.Bottle of perfume

SO SILLY!! I know! But the more weddings I shoot, the more I see gorgeous smelling little bottles of perfume! At first I had NO CLUE what this was for! Until I asked, and the answer I got was literally so SMART!! A smell will always take you back to a certain memory! Like apple spice sends me back to the Bedford Fall Fair EVERY SINGLE TIME!! So, for a wedding day and honeymoon, brides will go pick a cute little bottle of perfume, and that scent will ALWAYS take them back to the day they said “I Do” and the special honeymoon they went on!

Like how stinking cute is that?!?

2. Preserve my dress!

To some this may be a no brainer, but for me it was something that I didn’t want to pay for at the time!  I’m kicking myself in the butt for it now as my dress sits in a little pink tote in the dusty attick! TRUST ME when I say this, it wasn’t important to me then, but then my daughter Charlotte came along, and I want this dress to last until SHE gets married!! Its $99 at Davids Bridal and I HIGHLY suggest getting the dress you walk down the isle in, preserved!

3. SLOW DOWN

Brides you know what I’m about to say, and I’m sure you’ve heard it A MILLION times! But you are marrying the man of your DREAMS!! Soak it all in!! Every Last Second! The planning, the wedding day, the honeymoon and every moment after that!! Time has no mercy, and in 3 years of marriage I don’t think of my table pieces being perfect, or Trav’s bow tie being the exact color I wanted… I think of how I felt walking down that isle. The man I had been waiting for was SO happy to see ME, and he said YES to being my HUSBAND!! If I could go back, I would tell myself to SLOW DOWN!! Planning is hard, and stressful, and sometimes CRAZY things happen during your wedding day that you just can’t control…but it is OKAY!! I promise, when your holding his hand at night thinking of the time you promised forever, nothing else will EVER matter!!
