We have been talking about putting together a blog series for our brides for FOREVER!!! And today is the day it begins! This blog series is from a photographers point of view + is going to have tons of tips and tricks that will hopefully make planning the wedding of your dreams a little less stressful and a little bit easier! Your wedding day photographs will last you a LIFETIME and you DESERVE beautiful images! 10 years from now your images will be the only thing you have to look back on the best day of your life and its SO important to think about that when planning the timeline of your big day! So lets get started!

EVERY LITTLE DETAIL

For us, the day starts with the little details. When we first arrive, our brides are getting their hair and makeup done enjoying conversation with their best friends! We slide in, give big hugs and get right to the details. Every bride LOVES having those beautiful, simple shots of her bridal details. So heres a few tips to keep in mind before your photographer arrives:

1. Gather up those goodies! We ask all our brides to gather all the bridal details in a little box ready for us to dive right in when we walk through those doors. This allows us to get right to work and gives us more time to capture the fun moments of you and your girls getting ready!
2. Keep ALL the rings! A lot of the time the best man will be given the rings at the beginning of the day. WAIT!! It’s actually more helpful if you hand those babies off during the bridal party portraits so your photographer can snap some beautiful images of the sparkly goods in the AM.
3. Don’t forget the flowers! Make sure you have the bouquets and bouts delivered to the bridal suit before the day kicks off! This will allow you to have your bouquet in your portraits and it also allows us to use these beautiful details when we are shooting your jewelry and the rest of your bridal goodies!

A FEW EXTRA GETTING READY TIPS

• Make sure you put your dress on WITHOUT  your jewelry. Not only should your photographer get some pretty details of the jewelry by itself, but you also want to have some sweet shots of your mom and bridesmaids helping you put it on later!
• Lets talk about lighting! Make sure you think about WHERE you are having your photographer shoot your getting ready moments. For us, we search for a place that has ample natural light and space to capture those beautiful moments of you putting on that dress!
